The thing that is the most interesting here is the kit lens. Aside from the artifacting (forced 4:3) on the sides, look how much more of the tree you can see with the kit lens on the iPhone! When recording video the results are much more spectacular however because of the 16:9 format vs the 4:3 forced view from a 16:9 lens on the 4S.
I think the G1 picture looks the most like the tree does in real life however and the non-kit 4S picture is the clearest image from all 3.
